What is E-Recycling or E-Waste?
E-Waste simply refers to unwanted electronic equipment such as computers (desktops, laptops, servers and components), mice, keyboards, uninterruptible power supplies, batteries, printers, scanners, copiers, fax machines, televisions, plasma displays, radios, stereos, CPUs, CRT monitors, CD players, DVD players, LCD, LED, VCRs, coax cables, audio/video cables, and electronic games.
Why Can’t We Throw E-Waste in the Trash Dumps?
Certain electronic components contain hazardous materials that must be recycled. If these items are disposed in landfills, or worse, dumped illegally, toxic components may contaminate our ground water and pollute our environment. Laws currently prohibit electronic waste such as televisions and computer monitors from being disposed in the trash and subsequently landfilled or incinerated. With increased concerns for greener environments and for limited landfill space, it is important to recycle what you can. Pick up and drop off services are available.
